Software design of micron indentation system based on LabVIEW

With the rapid development of materials science and micro- and nano-technology, there is an increasing demand for accurate measurements of surface and microscopic mechanical properties of materials. As an effective means of characterising the mechanical properties of materials, micron indentation testing can provide key parameters such as hardness, Young’s modulus, fracture toughness and so on. However, the micron indentation technology in China started late in the field of material property testing, and the function of the testing system has not been perfected, especially in the ease of operation and data processing capability there are limitations. The aim of this study is to design and implement a LabVIEW-based micron indentation testing system to improve the automation level, data processing capability and user experience of the test.
