MINDS is Alemnis’ unified software platform for advanced mechanical testing and data analysis, seamlessly replacing AMICS-ECO and AMMDA. It enables full control of XYZ positioning, load, and displacement, supporting a wide range of experiments including indentation, compression, tension, mapping, and scratch testing. With features such as mixed load/displacement control, automated mapping with tilt correction, real-time visualization, and integrated analysis (hardness, modulus, stress–strain, creep, and energy), MINDS ensures precise and efficient workflows. Customizable templates, automated reporting, calibration management, and role-based access further streamline laboratory operations. MINDS also supports direct import of legacy data and remains fully compatible with previous Alemnis software.

Automated Custom Experiment

MINDS allows users to combine multiple experimental actions into a single automated Sequence, enabling complex experiments to run smoothly, consistently, and without manual intervention. Users can easily arrange, modify, and organize different steps to match their specific testing requirements, creating tailored workflows for a wide range of applications such as automatic approach, mapping, scratch testing, tilt correction, data correction, and data analysis. This flexibility simplifies the setup of complex procedures while ensuring reliable and repeatable execution. By automating the entire workflow, MINDS reduces user effort, minimizes errors, and significantly improves efficiency across both experimental testing and subsequent analysis.

A Sequence acts as a container that executes its child actions sequentially from top to bottom, exactly as displayed in the Job tree (see figure below). Actions can be reordered, added, removed, or nested to reflect the desired experimental or analysis logic. In the figure, multiple actions are combined into a single workflow, including:

  1. Automatic Approach to safely detect the surface
  2. Tilt Compensation to correct sample alignment
  3. ECO Map to execute a multi-point indentation map
  4. Point List Analyzer to automatically run refinement and unloading analysis on each dataset
  5. CSM data extraction and analysis for depth-dependent property evaluation
