The high carbon emissions due to cement production is one of the most critical issues for fostering concrete sustainability. In the last decades, supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in concrete have become very common to produce sustainable concrete. Moreover, today, the growing worldwide demand for infrastructures is causing over-exploited natural material sources.
