See this example of microstructure evolution of a pure gold (Au) thin film deposited on a sapphire substrate

The new Alemnis HTME-1000 is specifically designed for Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) analysis of a heated sample up to 1000°C. It is not mountable on an Alemnis Standard Assembly (ASA) but is used freestanding in any SEM.

See this example of microstructure evolution of a pure gold (Au) thin film deposited on a sapphire substrate measured by EBSD over the range 23°C – 850°C where grain growth and dewetting can be accurately monitored.
